Five things you didn't know about me

OK, so my friend tariq tagged me. Here is my list:

1) I am an extreme pacifist. I abhore violence in all shapes and forms. True sometimes it is necessary, but i always prefer to find an alternative.

2) Although my blog, education, and most of my daily chat is in english, i am a huge supporter of the arabic language, and anything that tries to expand/enhance it.

3) I prefer to cuddle with a good book over anything else. Even world of warcraft!!

4) I am cluastrophobic (fear of closed spaces) and acrophobic (fear of heights). Also, the smallest amount of chocolate would make me hyper for hours!!

5) My ultimate goal in life is immortality. Not living forever, but to enter history and remain there as a person who influenced humanity. Hopefully, in a positive way :-p

Space arms race?

According to some US intelligence agencies, China has managed to carry a successful test on an anti-satellite weapon. They have fired a balistic missle on one of their old weather satellites, destroying it and leaving a pile of debris in it's place.

Anybody wants to bet on the new starwars race?

Jesus Camp!!

OK, this is extremely disturbing. Now don't get me wrong, i'm not against christianity or anything, some of my best friends are christians. A persons religion is something between them and their god. But what those people are doing is just beyond normal limits!!!

Brainwashing little children, feeding hate and violence into their brains from a young age, the psychological abuse is something that no sane person would accept. If Osama Bin Laden is a muslim extremist, then these people are obviously christian extremists.

Apple Sued!!

With less than 48 hours since the unveiling of the infamous iPhone by Steve Jobs at Macworld 2007, Apple Inc. is already being sued for copyright infringment. Apparently, Cisco acquired the iPhone trademark in 2000, and are seeking to get a court order to prevent Apple from using that trademark, even though that Cisco that Apple did approach them asking for permission to use the trademark. Apparently, they saw the value of that trademark and decided to keep it for themselves.

Steve Jobs is so charismatic, i can't wait to see how he'll charm his way out of this one!!

Dwwen + Jazeera Talk

Well, this was quite a surprise. I started the day with my routine visit to Dwwen to check what is happneing in the arabic blogosphere, only to be surprised that Dwwen has joined forces with Jazeera talk.

Now this is great news to bloggers for many reasons, such as broadening their audience, bringing experienced and famous bloggers from Jazeera talk, and mixing experience with fresh blood. This way bloggers can continue to voice their thoughts, but can immediataly have a greater impact on the arabian blogosphere as a whole.

Well done, very well done. And since today is Dwwen's first birthday, i would like to say Happy Birthday. If this is your present for your first birhtday, i can't wait to see what you are going to pull next.
